orensen Cellars Wines

2004 Sorensen Syrah

• These grapes were grown in the new Horse Heaven Hills appellation at Aldercreek Vineyards

• This wine still shows a bit tight, but when it opens I find smoke and cedar on the nose. Licorice and cassis on the palate with a nice integration of American Oak

• Medium bodied fruit with expansive, silky mouthfeel. Try offerring this with a spicy barbequed rack of ribs

Sorensen Cellars 2003 Merlot

• From Ciel du Cheval Vineyards on Red Mountain

• 75% Merlot - 25% Cabernet Sauvignon • 100 cases produced

• Dark fruits and black cherry on the nose moving to rich cherry-vanilla elements on the palate. An extremely rich Merlot that shows its character after being opened an hour or so.

• Pair with a hearty lamb stew

2004 Sorensen Rosé of Cabernet Franc

• A new wine for Sorensen, a beautiful light copper color with hints of fresh strawberry jam on the nose.

• Again, I find creamy strawberry characters on the palate.

• A dry rose with a hint of sweetness. This is a great picnic wine to serve throughout the summer.

2004 Cabernet Franc

• Fruit sourced from two vineyards, Ciel du Cheval and Whitestone

• 92% Cabernet Franc - 8% Cabernet Sauvignon

• 175 cases produced

• On the nose I find cedar, white pepper, sweet fruits with a hint of anise. Drifting to flowery herbal notes, plum, pomegranate, dark fruits, lightly oaked with balanced tannins. Finishes with sweet fruit lingering across the palate.

• Pair with a Muscovy duck salad

2006 Sorensen Sangiovese

• Ciel du Cheval Vineyard on Red Mountain

• 100% Sangiovese • 100 cases produced

• A classic Chianti nose showing light cane fruits. On the palate I enjoy subtle raspberry notes in this medium bodied wine. Good acids making this an exceptional food wine.

• Pair with Italian sausage raviol

2006 Pinot Gris-Sauvignon Blanc

• From Two Coyote Vineyard - Rattle Snake Hills, and Aldercreek Vineyards - Horse Heaven Hills

• 64% Pinot Gris - 36% Sauvignon Blanc

• 350 Cases produced

• This friendly blend exhibits tropical fruit on the nose with like characters on the palate. Fresh and clean, viscous and creamy mouth feel.

• Serve with Dungeness crab cakes

Watch for:
2002 Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot in April
2007 Viognier in May
